Mount Laurel is a suburban town with a lot of preserved land, close to both the Pinelands National Reserve and the Jersey Shore:

Rancocas State Park — over 8 miles of hiking and biking trails.
Wharton State Forest — canoeing rivers, hiking trails, and Batsto Village, a former bog-iron and glass-making center.
Historic Smithville Park — 312 acres with over 4 miles of trails, including a floating walkway.
Cooper River Park — a 3.5-mile paved loop with Philadelphia skyline views.
